We believe that children are entrusted to us from God and therefore it is our responsibility to raise them to know and love Jesus Christ.

We understand that it can be tough to be a kid these days … and maybe even tougher to be a parent. In our church, we believe strongly that parents have the primary responsibility to disciple their children. Families can help to nurture their child’s soul by tending to them as a gardener would; “Tilling”, “Planting”, Watering” and “Weeding” as they learn about God’s love for them. We also believe that as a body of Christ we also have a role in this process. At its core, the vision and purpose of Rooted Children’s Ministry is to partner with you as your children begin and grow in their own personal relationship with Jesus.

We help families by providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can experience God’s love for them, while also building friendships that will last for a lifetime.

Age appropriate Bible teaching is available for children every Sunday. All of our classrooms are staffed by trained church members who have completed our safety screening program and who love children and serve faithfully on a regular basis.

While the adults are in worship service, children can enjoy classes designed just for them.

Sheri Becraft

Children’s Ministry Director

Sheri Becraft has served as the Director of Children’s Ministry since 2018. Sheri’s family attended Bethany Community Church’s first service in 1986, and she grew up in its Children and Youth Ministries. As a young teen, Sheri was known to some as the “Bethany babysitter” and had two planners: one to keep track of her schoolwork and another for her many babysitting jobs. As an adult, Sheri has served in both the Nursery and Preschool classrooms, and worked closely with the former Children’s Ministry Director until she stepped into the staff position herself. Sheri holds a degree in Early Childhood Development and is the owner and operator of a licensed family childcare. She has welcomed families into her home for almost two decades and remains in close contact with many of them today. She and her husband Mark are also parents to two young adults who grew up at Bethany. Sheri believes that all of her experiences with children have guided her to where she is today; that working with children and families is her calling from God. She enjoys bringing her knowledge and passion together in His name and for His glory. Leading and witnessing young children begin and grow in their own personal relationship with Jesus is a joy and a privilege, a feeling like no other.

Hello Bethany Family,

We pray that you are all well this evening. As you know, there is a weather advisory for our area until 10am in effect regarding the incoming snow, potential slippery roads as a result of the weather conditions, and low temperatures. Our understanding is that the snow will conclude by 7am, however, due to the short amount of time that will be available to assess and make a judgement call in the morning that would keep team members, volunteers, and members of the congregation out of harm’s way, after the discussion with the Elders we have decided not to have service in the morning. This decision did not come lightly, but out of an abundance of caution and care for our members, some of whom arrive at the church very early to support service. We believe that this is the best course of action due to the circumstances and the short window to decide and inform everyone. We pray that each of you is warm and safe, and hope that even as we thank God for 39 years as a church from our homes that you will take time for family devotion together.

While we didn’t plan for our anniversary to come this way, we remain grateful for God’s keeping hand on Bethany Community Church for all of these years. We hope to see you all in person next week!

God bless,

Pastor Nate
