Deaf Ministry

Felllowship within the Deaf community

We are a multicultural community that connects with all people regardless of culture, ethnicity, or any other divider.

Our community is inclusive of the hearing and the deaf.

The purpose of our deaf ministry here at Bethany is to help Deaf people begin and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our Deaf Ministry Team, led by a dedicated group of Deaf leaders, is the catalyst for a range of ministry opportunities for Deaf people – and, Deaf people also serve in a broad range of ministries across the spectrum of our church such as:

  • Visual Worship
  • Communications and publicity
  • Missions
  • Facilities and grounds maintenance
  • Special events
  • Bible teaching

Our worship services are all inclusive in our expressions of worship.

In order to ensure that the gospel is presented to all members of our congregation we provide both American Sign Language interpretation as well as real time captioning (CART). All of our music is presented in a visual format as well.

CART, or Communication Access Realtime Translation, is the translation of spoken words into English text. At Bethany, we project these real-time captions onto a large screen set up on the stage so that they are visible to anyone in the room who may find it useful for following the service.

Fun and Fellowship

Hello Bethany Family,

We pray that you are all well this evening. As you know, there is a weather advisory for our area until 10am in effect regarding the incoming snow, potential slippery roads as a result of the weather conditions, and low temperatures. Our understanding is that the snow will conclude by 7am, however, due to the short amount of time that will be available to assess and make a judgement call in the morning that would keep team members, volunteers, and members of the congregation out of harm’s way, after the discussion with the Elders we have decided not to have service in the morning. This decision did not come lightly, but out of an abundance of caution and care for our members, some of whom arrive at the church very early to support service. We believe that this is the best course of action due to the circumstances and the short window to decide and inform everyone. We pray that each of you is warm and safe, and hope that even as we thank God for 39 years as a church from our homes that you will take time for family devotion together.

While we didn’t plan for our anniversary to come this way, we remain grateful for God’s keeping hand on Bethany Community Church for all of these years. We hope to see you all in person next week!

God bless,

Pastor Nate
