Missions

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations
– Matthew 28:19

Here at Bethany, we believe that our mission in the local church expands to the local, national, and global community. We believe that the Great Commission will not be accomplished until all the nations have heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

Active Missionaries

Kevin and Ann McGhee

Kevin and Ann McGhee

After 32 years of leading Bethany Community Church, Kevin joined the senior leadership team of Converge as the Director of U.S. Engagement. The department that he leads is helping churches across the U.S. focus on the center of the Great Commission by asking God to launch a gospel movement among the least-reached peoples of the world in our generation. Among the least reached in every land are deaf peoples, who hold a special place in Kevin’s heart. Kevin has been married to Ann since 1981. The McGhees have two amazing daughters who are both active in ministry.

Drew and Jane and Their Children

Drew and Jane are joining the Lord’s mission as the leaders of the Spice Islands Initiative with Converge international ministries. Their four children will join them as they begin new lives in Southeast Asia. They are inviting individuals, families, and churches to partner with them in this calling.

TammyWeiner

Tammy Weiner

God is on the move! There are still millions of Deaf who have not experienced the transformation of the Gospel. Your partnership with Tammy Weiner through BCC and International Converge Ministries will help her do the work to change that.

Hello Bethany Family,

We pray that you are all well this evening. As you know, there is a weather advisory for our area until 10am in effect regarding the incoming snow, potential slippery roads as a result of the weather conditions, and low temperatures. Our understanding is that the snow will conclude by 7am, however, due to the short amount of time that will be available to assess and make a judgement call in the morning that would keep team members, volunteers, and members of the congregation out of harm’s way, after the discussion with the Elders we have decided not to have service in the morning. This decision did not come lightly, but out of an abundance of caution and care for our members, some of whom arrive at the church very early to support service. We believe that this is the best course of action due to the circumstances and the short window to decide and inform everyone. We pray that each of you is warm and safe, and hope that even as we thank God for 39 years as a church from our homes that you will take time for family devotion together.

While we didn’t plan for our anniversary to come this way, we remain grateful for God’s keeping hand on Bethany Community Church for all of these years. We hope to see you all in person next week!

God bless,

Pastor Nate
