Sheri Becraft

Children’s Ministry Director

Sheri Becraft has served as the Director of Children’s Ministry since 2018. Sheri’s family attended Bethany Community Church’s first service in 1986, and she grew up in its Children and Youth Ministries. As a young teen, Sheri was known to some as the “Bethany babysitter” and had two planners: one to keep track of her schoolwork and another for her many babysitting jobs. As an adult, Sheri has served in both the Nursery and Preschool classrooms, and worked closely with the former Children’s Ministry Director until she stepped into the staff position herself. Sheri holds a degree in Early Childhood Development and is the owner and operator of a licensed family childcare. She has welcomed families into her home for almost two decades and remains in close contact with many of them today. She and her husband Mark are also parents to two young adults who grew up at Bethany. Sheri believes that all of her experiences with children have guided her to where she is today; that working with children and families is her calling from God. She enjoys bringing her knowledge and passion together in His name and for His glory. Leading and witnessing young children begin and grow in their own personal relationship with Jesus is a joy and a privilege, a feeling like no other.

Hello Bethany Family,

We pray that you are all well this evening. As you know, there is a weather advisory for our area until 10am in effect regarding the incoming snow, potential slippery roads as a result of the weather conditions, and low temperatures. Our understanding is that the snow will conclude by 7am, however, due to the short amount of time that will be available to assess and make a judgement call in the morning that would keep team members, volunteers, and members of the congregation out of harm’s way, after the discussion with the Elders we have decided not to have service in the morning. This decision did not come lightly, but out of an abundance of caution and care for our members, some of whom arrive at the church very early to support service. We believe that this is the best course of action due to the circumstances and the short window to decide and inform everyone. We pray that each of you is warm and safe, and hope that even as we thank God for 39 years as a church from our homes that you will take time for family devotion together.

While we didn’t plan for our anniversary to come this way, we remain grateful for God’s keeping hand on Bethany Community Church for all of these years. We hope to see you all in person next week!

God bless,

Pastor Nate
